Easter Eucharist 8 & 10a.m. St. Peter’s Church

The 8am service at St. Peter’s is one of the few times when hymns are sung at the service at St. Peter’s.  The 10am service will feature brass and choir.  The service will begin in the parish hall with the altar party in a simple procession in silence to the church where the crucifer will knock on the door for admission to the church. In Christianity, knocking is a metaphor for openness and receptiveness. The Bible says, “Knock and the door will be opened to you,” which symbolizes seeking guidance and receiving help.  The pascal candle will enter the church in silent procession and the service will begin with singing the opening hymn.
