Pot Luck supper & Bible chats
with Father Perry

On Sunday, April 3, 2011,  we will welcome Dr. Anthony G. Alessi who will present a talk entitled “Haiti: A time for change”.

Dr. Allessi is a board-certified, Connecticut neurologist in private practice specializing in general neurology, neuromuscular diseases, EMG and sports medicine.   Dr. Allessi’s presentation is part of the St. Peter’s ‘Bible Chats & Potluck Supper Series’.  A pot-luck supper begins at 5 p.m.  The talk begins at 6 p.m. in Phelps Hall, 30 Church Street (Rt. 85), Hebron, CT.

Dr. Alessi has been involved in providing medical care to the Haitian people for several years, most specifically working with Fr. Rick Frechette of St. Damien Hospital, Tabarre, Haiti.  Since the devastating earthquake a year ago he has returned to Haiti 5 times, most recently leading a group of medical professionals from the William Backus Hospital to provide care to victims of the cholera epidemic.

In addition to the medical expertise he has provided to the people of Haiti, he has been able to motivate others to contribute their talents and finances toward the purchase of much need radiology equipment and medical supplies. His work is ongoing and he is committed to sharing his experiences with others in the hopes that they too will be moved to action in the assistance of these people.

The public is welcome to attend the talk and the supper (please bring a dish to share) or, if you prefer, just the talk.  If you think you will be attending please notify the church (860-228-3244) or
stpetershebron@sbcglobal.net so we can have a headcount.
